  1. SUPER ELEMENT You have been hired by Elements of the Universe, a comic book publisher, to create a new superhero whose appearance, characteristics, and powers are based on an assigned element in the periodic table. • Directions: • Research your assigned element: atomic number, atomic mass, date of discovery, physical and chemical characteristics, etc. • Create a “Super Element” profile including an illustration and at least five facts about your hero (see required) • Write a 2-3 page short story about your Superhero using the characteristics from your hero’s profile • Required in profile and story: • Creative “Super Element” name (ex: Potassiman!) • At least one superpower related to your element’s characteristics • At least two other elements from the periodic table as characters (ex: arch nemesis and sidekick) • Atomic number, atomic mass, date of discovery, physical characteristics, chemical characteristics will be integrated into your main character’s identity
