Program Requirements • MA Program • Principal Field: 9 Hours • Second Field: 6 hours • Required Seminars (POLI 7961, 7962): 6 hours • Professional development seminar (POLI 7000): 1 hour • Electives/minor field: 6 hours • Thesis: 6-9 hours • PhD Program • Principal Field: 15 Hours • Second Field: 12 hours • Required Seminars (POLI 7961, 7962, 7963 ): 9 hours • Professional development seminar (POLI 7000): 1 hour • Electives/minor field: 6-18 hours • Dissertation: 9-18 hours
Application Requirements • Completed the B.A. or M.A. in political science with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate course work. • A score on the verbal section of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) in the 55th percentile or above. • A score on the quantitative section of the GRE in the 45th percentile or above. • Three letters of recommendation from professors familiar with their work.
