Goals • (1) Discuss the research, development and standards efforts in geospatial information systems being carried out at the four organizations • (2) Discuss opportunities for conducting interoperability initiatives and/or experiments between the four organizations • (3) Discuss plans and opportunities for the already established Oracle's Center for Excellence in Geospatial Systems at UTD • (4) Discuss opportunities for writing proposals as well as responding to BAAs to develop operational systems from agencies such as the National Geospatial Imagery Agency (NGA) and the Department of Defense. (UTD is also very keen on submitting a ERC or S&T center proposal in this area to NSF for the next call) • (5) Develop a plan for collaboration between the four organizations
Agenda • Pick up OGC members and Gen. Jack Pellicci at Hotel Richardson 8am • 8:30 - 8:45am Welcome: Prof. Bhavani Thuraisingham (for Prof. Da Hsuan Feng) • 8:45 - 9:15am Some remarks from OGC, Dr. David Schell • 9:15 - 10:00: Geospatial Research at UTD: Thuraisingham, Khan and VP 10:45 - 11:00 Break • 11:00 - 11:45am Geospatial development at Oracle, General Jack Pellicci • 11:45 - 12:30pm Geospatial research, development and support to programs at Raytheon, Ms Angela Reece-Wilson • (This will complete Goal 1 of the meeting) • 12:30 - 1:30: Working Lunch (begin discussion of the goals 2, 3, 4 and 5) • 1:30 - 3:00pm Continue with discussion of the goals • 3:00 - 3:30pm Wrap up with a plan for the next steps
