Conclusions Competency Model Implementation: Critical Success Factors • Competency profiles must be linked to the business goals of the organization • Development of the model is not solely an HR process - it involves line managers and employees • Competencies cannot be generically applied • Be patient - this is a long term change process • with this in mind, set deadline for completing competency analysis • recognize that perfection is unattainable - focus on practical competencies that can be modified over time
