Tattle TalesJohn 11:45-57 What Should We Do With Jesus? • An unlikely coalition • Some of the witnesses refused to believe • They reported to the Pharisees – the religious party – denominations • The Pharisees reported to the Sadducees – the political party – wealthy aristocrats • They hated each other but united against a common enemy – Jesus • Much like Herod and Pilate – Luke 23:11-12
Luke 23:11-12 (NASB) 11 And Herod with his soldiers, after treating Him with contempt and mocking Him, dressed Him in a gorgeous robe and sent Him back to Pilate. 12Now Herod and Pilate became friends with one another that very day; for before they had been enemies with each other.

Isaiah 53:8 (NASB) 8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke was due? Matthew 1:21 (NASB) 21 She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Are you like the rulers, hiding behind empty organized religiosity? Or, are you like Jesus, following Him because you know the Father and are confident in His plan for you and those around you?
