The Global Experience This first-year seminar examines public responsibility in a global context. It explores some of the implications created by cultural and natural diversity and the possibilities for human communication and cooperation within this diversity. The course emphasizes student and faculty creativity through active and collaborative learning; the seminar is writing intensive. • Faculty are recruited from all departments and schools of the University. • Faculty meet every Monday for lunch discussions and workshops. Team-taught Sophomore Honors Seminars • Faculty from two areas of the distribution requirements collaborate on an interdisciplinary class. • Recent offerings: • Exploring Consciousness (REL and PSY) • History of Disability in the US (EDU and HST) • American Working Class (POL and ART) • To Be A Sex Object: Representation, Gender, and the Body (PHL and ART) • The Civil Rights Movement in Literature and Memory (ENG and HST) • Students may select in which of the two areas they will count the course.
