Overview Graduates are THEkey component in FD’s ongoing recruitment drive Recruited circa 200 graduates in 2009/2010 – approximately 9 of every 10 new staff are at graduate level! Plans for approx. 100 graduates in 2011 including 17 graduates that started yesterday!! Targeting specifically the top 40 Computer Science & Finance programmes across UK & Ireland – also posting on Australian, American and European University careers websites. Options & Placement Programmes Financial Engineering Software Development Sales, Marketing & Operations Legal, Accounting, Sys Admin, Estate Management Overview 2
Options Programme Options is our new and exciting fast-track consulting programme, launched during Summer 2009 The Programme aims to expose successful candidates over 2 year term, to a range of client assignments and internal company projects. During the Options Programme, candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experts in a range of fields including Finance, IT, Business Consultancy, Marketing and Operations. We recruit independent thinkers and achievement orientated individuals with the expectation they are self starters – individuals who ensure they have armed themselves with the required level of information and knowledge to meet the requirements of our clients and the demands of the job. Currently targeting Graduates through the following channels: Staff referrals University Careers Departments Gradfairs Recruitment websites Agencies Positive PR, FD in the News We would like the vast majority of our Graduate applicants to come from Staff referrals and University Careers Departments We hope to achieve this target with your help today and tomorrow! In 2010 we attracted approximately Willingness to travel at short notice to work on medium/long term assignments globally; For Stream 1, have 500 points in Leaving Cert. including a B3 in Higher Level Maths (Ireland) or AAA at ‘A’ Level, including an A in Maths (UK); For Stream 2, have 450 points in Leaving Cert. or BBB at ‘A’ Level; For Stream 3, have 400+ points in Leaving Cert or AAB at ‘A’ Level (UK); Have already achieved or are on track to achieve a minimum of 2.1 degree classification Key Criteria for an Options Recruit: 6
Applicant Process: In 2010 we attracted 827 graduate applicants across all streams. We interviewed almost 50% of those applicants over the year. We conduct an initial screen based on key criteria We invite to telephone interview OR directly to face-to-face interview Face-to-Face interview process consists of: 2 one-to-one short interviews (20 mins each) Group discussion/Roleplay Presentation We make offers to approximately 1 in every 4 that attends interview We assert that we do not see enough applicants matching our key criteria, especially Software Developers! Training within the company is mostly on the job combined with a support framework which includes a mentoring scheme, career coaching and regular in-house training. CMTPs are a central plank to career progression for our Graduates – successful completion of the various modules AND positive client/business feedback will warrant full time job offer Training comprises Tutor led workshops allied with Peer driven workshops. Testing is conducted via Online Multiple Choice and Written Exams.
