CIN and CRUP, along with Higher Education Regional Planning Councils (CPRES) form the Council of Universities (CCU) chaired by the Minister of National Education. • CCU is an advisory and evaluative body which exerts a strong impact on the system of higher education in Argentina. • Currently, one of the CCU`s priorities is internationalization through the enhancement of mobility and organization of international research groups.
KRASP and CCU – meeting in Buenos Aires • 2 September 2015 – delegation of KRASP (prof.MarcinPałys and dr Joanna Gocłowska-Bolek) met with the representatives of CCU. • The meeting was attended by representatives of the Argentine Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science, Technology and productiveInnovation.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN ARGENTINA • 1613 - Jesuits found in Córdoba Collegium Maximum, the first school of a kind. • 1622 - It is granted the status of university by the Pope Gregorius XV. • At first, it is a system that only benefits children from wealthy families. • 1816 – Argentina declares its independence, universities are a means to create new identity. • 1821 - University of Buenos Aires is founded (currently, ranks 1st among LATAM universities, as per the QS University Ranking).
