2. About Tammy • Tammy graduated Cum Laude from Auburn in 1992 with a Masters in Accountancy. Upon graduation, she took a job with Deloitte & Touche in Sacramento, CA. She passed the CPA exam in the first sitting and has been a licensed CPA in the state of CA since 1994. Tammy first realized her love for real estate at Deloitte & Touche where she served as Senior Accountant for several banks and some of the largest real estate companies in the US. Tammy spent much of her time studying mortgages & real estate appraisals & analyzing loans.  Her work in the real estate industry taught her much about how to value a property & pricing and her work in the banking industry enabled her to learn a lot about mortgages as well as foreclosures. In 2006, Tammy and her family moved to Birmingham to be closer to where Tammy grew up. Tammy and her husband, Paul, purchased Gilpin and Company, Inc., an export packaging company, in 2008. Tammy is the CFO at Gilpin and spends most mornings working at Gilpin.  Her job at Gilpin is very flexible and allows her to show houses, and market properties when needed. Tammy got her real estate license & began working in the real estate industry in 2012. She still works at Gilpin and Company, Inc. but enjoys spending most of her spare time working real estate. Tammy and her husband, Paul, live in Birmingham, AL. They have 3 children: Kevin (20 yrs., a Civil Engineering student at Auburn), Justin (18 yrs., a Mechanical Engineering student at Auburn), Katelyn (17 yrs., a senior at Spain Park High). In her spare time, Tammy enjoys tennis, running and cross fit. Tammy’s high school coach used to say, “a winner never quits and a quitter never wins.” She applies this motto every day to real estate.  A win for her is finding the perfect house for you.   She vows to do that with each client and she won’t quit until we all get a win.
