  1. Interesting Facts:25 October 1854 The charge of the Light Brigade was an ill advised cavalry charge which occurred during the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. 600 soldiers on horseback charged in to enemy forces and were killed – they obeyed their commanding officer despite knowing it was a terrible mistake. 1881 Pablo Picasso, the famous artist, was born in Malaga, Spain.

  2. Interesting Facts:26 October 1951 Sir Winston Churchill won the general election to become Prime Minister of Great Britain for the second time. He was Prime Minister for most of World War II.

  5. Games Parliament P1-3 Games • The Games Parliament will be organising Playground Games in the Ballcourt at Break times. This will start with the P2s on Wednesday, then the P3s on Friday and P1s next Monday. • Games will include Stick in the Mud, Duck Duck Goose, Toilet Tig and What’s the Time Mr Wolf?. • Details will be posted on the Mini League Notice Board near the P1/P2 line up area. Mini League • Some classes have asked for Mini Leagues to start again at lunch times. If you would like to play please put your name and class down on the register in the P4-7 foyer this week for all the sports you would like to play. There are separate registers for football, netball, dodgeball, handball and Kick Rounders. • Please remember if you sign up you must be prepared to turn up for all your teams’ games. If you don’t want to do that please don’t sign up.

  6. Reminder Papdale’s Got Talent All money raised during “Papdale’s Got Talent” will go towards Children in Need. Packed Lunches If you have taken a packed lunch to school, please put it in the trolley safely.

  7. Well Done to …………. Imogen and Elizabeth who visited the new library in Stromness, to launch two books and one has their illustrations in it.

  8. Well Done to …………. Shannon, Hope, Elsie Mae and Sophie for passing their Level 4 in Gymnastics.

  9. Well Done to …………. Raegan and Alaina who climbed up and down Ben Nevis in just 7 hours! Well done girls!

  10. Well Done to …………. Mark who competed in the MacDonald Mile Fun Run in Aviemore.
