CHIETA ETQA STAKEHOLDER WORKSHOP 2019 QALA & CERTIFICATION
Upcoming Changes • QALA Application form to be updated: • SDP to provide Employed/Unemployed (18.1/ 18.2) learner information on the form. • SDP to list all terminated learners. • QALA Report to be updated: • To include Employed/Unemployed (18.1/ 18.2) learner information. • Competency Status Forms • To be submitted to the SST on completion of the QALA. • SDP to submit termination letters for learners.
Implications: Competency Status Forms (CSF) • It is the responsibility of the SDP to ensure that: • Learner details are completed in full. • All parties have signed each page of the CSF (Learner, Assessor, and Moderator). • Clear copies of certified supporting documents are attached. • The SDP to submit all CSFs to the SST for sign off. • The SST to submit the QALA report and CSFs to ETQA.
Points to Note • QALA applications to be submitted one month prior to completion of learning program. • SSTs are allocated by CHIETA ETQA – SDPs may not select their own SSTs. • Learners must be enrolled prior to QALA being requested. • Learners may not be added to QALA applications. • There are still instances of SDPs using Assessors & Moderators with expired registration.
Points to Note • Complete application forms in full and submit all required certified supporting documents. • Requirements for Moderator applicants: One year Assessor experience. • Renewals to be submitted three months prior to registration expiring. • Must submit proof of Subject Matter Expertise and ETDP SETA/OTHER SETA certificate/statement of results. • All applications to be sent to etqaqueries@chieta.org.za
QCTO • QCTO Evaluators are conducting random Monitoring & Evaluation visits at SDPs. • SDPs to ensure that all records to be made available on request (PoE’s, etc.). • QCTO visits are similar to QALA exercise.
