  2. Who could you use as a reference? • Teachers • Counselors • Former employers • Adult friends of the family • Church members or leaders • Coaches • Club advisors • Adults who have jobs or own their own business • Job supervisors, manager or coworkers

Steps for References • Decide which people will say positive things about you • Call and ask them if you can use them as a reference • If they agree, ask them for… • Correct name spelling • Name of company where they work • Job title • Company address and phone number (some references may use their home address)
