  2. Short Summary • Jeffrey survived cancer and is in eighth grade, but the he’s definitely not normal. He has a limp in his right foot, and he just can’t seem to remember math. So when a law is passed that to go to high school, you have to pass the math final, Jeffrey is in a lot of trouble. It also doesn’t help that his brother that is also his idol, Steven, just abandoned everything and ran off to Africa, a new girl at school he likes that and thinks he's cute has arrived, and his best friend Tad is acting strange. Tad also decided to tutor Jeffrey in math, but it isn’t going to well. Then, in the middle of finals, Tad’s cancer comes back. Will Jeffrey pass the finals? Will Tad survive? R, Research • I researched cancer and found that • There are over 200 kinds of cancer. • There are lots of things that increase the chance of getting cancer, including tobacco use, certain infections, and exposure to radiation. • There are also lots of things that decrease the chance of getting cancer, including not smoking, eating a lot of vegetables, and maintaining a healthy weight. • I also found that cancer can be somewhat inherited, as its linked to unregulated cell growth. • Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer
