  2. Kežmarok castle • situated in the centre of the town Kežmarok • first mentioned in 1463 • reconstructed areas with the Early Baroque chapel

  3. Ľubovňa castle • one of the most unique castles in Slovakia • built in 13th century • lies in southeast part of Slovakia • the museum of folk architecture

  4. Kapušany castle • built in the13th century • near the village Kapušany • belonged to dependency of Matúš Čák

  5. Plaveč castle • built 13th century • between Šariš and Spiš region • destroyed with fire in 1856

  6. Spiš castle • situated above the town of Spišské Podhradie  • included in the UNESCO list • built in the 12th century • the last owners were the family Csáky

  7. Šariš castle • one of the oldest and biggest castles in Slovakia • built in the 13th century • burned down in the 17th century

  8. Brekov castle • between Strážske and Humenne • built around 650 AD • destroyed in the 17th century

  9. Čičava castle • first mentioned in the 13th century • is known for its “Book of Lies and Liars”
