Do’s of Interviewing • Arrive 10-15 minutes early • Get a good night’s sleep • Express enthusiasm • Know and correctly pronounce names • Use “please” and “thank you” • Answer questions completely • Sit up straight & maintain eye contact

Questions You Should Not Ask • When do I get my first raise? • When are your holidays and vacations? • Who is your boss? • Do you mind if I smoke?
Follow Up Thank You Letter • Every interview should be followed by a thank you letter • Sent one to two days after your interview • Show appreciation for the employer’s time spent with you • Shows you want to work for that company • Gets your name in front of employer • Include some reference so employer will remember you
Behavioral Interviews • Some employers are moving to this • More accurate predictor of future performance • 55% predictive of future on-the-job behavior
