Attendance/Class Participation • No late assignments are accepted – No Make-up work unless you miss school for a school-authorized activity, you have instructor approval, or you have an official Dr’s note. It is your responsibility to notify the instructor within 48 hours of a class absence that requires makeup work. Documentation for classes missed which require make-up work must be submitted to the instructor by the next class period. Make-up work must be complete within one week of absence. • It is your responsibility to attend class for the entire class period. Since attendance will be taken, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are marked present during or immediately after the class period. Attendance credits may not be given if the student is more than 10 minutes late to class or leaves the class early.
Attendance/Class Participation • Attendance is strongly encouraged because of the hands-on nature of the course material. Students are expected to attend class. Missing class may adversely affect your understanding of course material, and, thus, your performance in the class. If you are unable to attend class, you are responsible for: • finding out what was covered in class and what announcements were made (due to the size of the class, the instructor cannot be responsible for repeating the lecture material). The student will be fully responsible for all the work assigned, whether present in class or not. • obtaining handouts and turning in assignments that are due, even if you are unable to attend class. Otherwise, your assignments will be considered late and will be penalized as such unless previously cleared with the instructor. • If you are absent for a test, a quiz, or a lab, the student must provide official written documentation pertaining to the exact date of absence, such as a Dr’s note stating that the student was unable to attend class on that particular date. If such documentation is not provided within the week or instructor approval has not been granted, the student will receive a 0 for the test, quiz, or lab.
