  1. “Asset Management and Financial Management – Bridging the Gap”. Pre-Conference Seminar Tuesday, August 10, 2010 • The Michigan Section, AWWA and the Michigan Water Environment Association Joint Annual Conference offers attendees the opportunity to better understand the difficulties that nearly all water and wastewater utilities face when trying to fund their aging infrastructure replacement projects. • Aging infrastructure is a well known challenge that needs to be accounted for, financed, planned, understood and communicated. • This seminar will help you make the connection from the boots on the street to the value of the service provided. Not only will you get a straight forward approach to asset management and financial management, but you will also learn how financial planning can help make asset management a reality. The cost for attendance at the seminar is $85 for members and $95 for non-members, which includes a luncheon and entry into the vendor exhibits on Tuesday only. Participants who attend the entire program may receive three hours (0.3 continuing education credits) of Drinking Water and Wastewater Michigan Department of Natural Resources & Environment (MDNRE) Advisory Board-approved education credit in the “management” category. Attendance of the exhibits will earn an additional 0.1 CEC’s in the “other” category.
