Anaconda Sizes -Length: Usually up to 16 ft, but 33 ft has been recorded -Weight: Up to 550 lbs., possibly higher Habitat and Habits -likes the streams, rivers, swamps, and pools of the Amazon Rainforest can climb well     -uses trees for refuge from predators Food and Feeding -preys on deer, wild pigs, and large rodents     -agouti, paca, capybara (rodent examples)     -also attacks aquatic animals

  3. Macaw Sizes-Length: 23 in.-Tail: 20 in. Habitat and Habits-live in tropics/subtropics    -prefer forests that grow in swampy ground or rivers-they are sociable-roosts in forest together atnight Food and Feeding-completely dependent on trees for food-likes to eat nuts, fruits, seeds, berries

  4. Collared Peccary Sizes -Height: 12-16 in -Weight: 35-55 lbs. Habitat and Habits -lives in herds of up to 50 individuals         -contains family groups of up to 15 members -herds stay together all year, but each family uses a different part of herd’s territory Food and Feeding -eats roots, fruit, and seeds -it some areas, the main food eaten is cacti -also eats insects and small invertebrates -locates food with sensitive snout, then digs food up with short, sharp tusks

  5. Giant Anteater Sizes -Body Length: 40-48 in -Tail Length: 28-35 in -Weight- 44-90 lbs. (males slightly heavier than females) Habitat and Habits -lives solitary life -habitat includes rainforests, grasslands, and mixed forest and semiarid regions of Central and South America -spends day searching for food -exceptional senses of smell and hearing Food and Feeding -diet consists mainly of ground-dwelling ants         -occasionally will eat termites and army ants

Jaguar Sizes-Length: 44-73 inches-Tail:18-30 inches-Weight: Male:125-250 lbs.               Female:100-200 lbs Habitat and Habits-Adults live alone-young stay with mother about 2 years        -then go find their own hunting territoryFood and Feeding-they eat mainly forests animals from mice to deer-they wait in trees for unsuspecting prey-hunt mainly at night-can run short distances quickly to overtake their prey        -however, they tire quickly-like to catch and eat fish, frogs, turtles, small alligators

Frigate Bird Sizes-Length: 3-3 1/2 feet-Weight: 3 lbs.    -can fly for many hours Habitat and Habits-lives on Brazil's coast-lives and breeds on islands: Galapagos, Cape Verde, Caribbean-nests built in low shrubs with sticks, feather, and bones Food and Feeding-likes to eat flying fish, jellyfish, squid, hatching turtles-steals food from boobies and gannets

  8. Piranha Size-Length: 8 inches    -some species are up to 20 inches-Weight: under 3 lb. Habitat and Habits-lives in enormous packs called shoals-spend most of their time hunting for food-rivers are primary habitatFood and Feeding-hunts using speed and surprise-attack typically by swimming right into a school of prey fish    -the prey scatter in all directions and piranhas overpower isolated fish    -small fish are swallowed whole    -larger fish have chunks ripped from them
