  2. SCALE • Calling something “big” or “small” is all matter of what you compare it to. • A coffee bean is small compared to beach ball • However, the same coffee bean is gigantic when you compare it to a carbon atom.

  5. Example 3 - DNA • We have DNA in every cell in our bodies. • It is all compacted into a unthinkably small space. If you could stretch it out all the way it would be about 1 meter long. • We have 10,000,000,000,000 cells in our bodies. That means over 10,000,000,000,000 meters or DNA. • If we put it all together this one long chain could: • 1) Wrap around the Equator 26,000 times! • 2) Go to the Moon and back 13,000 times! • 3) Go to Mars and back 6 times! • That’s a lot of DNA!
