  4. Vanadium is a transition metal. Group

  5. The discovery of vanadium actually happened twice. The first was claimed by Andres Manuel del Rio(a Spanish mineralogist)at Mexico city,1803. it is named after “Vanadis” meaning the goddess of beauty in Scandinavian mythology. The second person who claimed finding vanadium is Nils Gabriel Sefstrom(a Swedish chemist),in 1831.Matallic vanadium was not made until 1867 when Henry Enfield Roscoe discovered it. It got the symbol “V” simply because it started with “v” and that letter was not already used already. History

  6. Vanadium trichloride:VCI3 Vanadium Oxide:VO Compounds

  7. Vanadium is used to make nuclear applications. It is also used as a steel addictive. Common Uses
