  3. Title I Schoolwide Components

  4. 1. Teacher Mentoring How are new or inexperienced teachers being supported? How are master teachers assigned to mentees? What does the support look like?

  5. 2. Budget How are the various funds coordinated in this school (local, state, Title I, other federal funds, etc)? Is this a Title I school identified for school improvement? Has 10% been set-aside for professional development?

  6. 3. Transition How are the transitions handled for students?

  7. 4. Highly Qualified Teachers What are the ratios for highly qualified teachers within the school? How is the LEA supporting the school with efforts to attract and retain high quality teachers?

  8. 5. Assessments and Teacher Involvement How do teachers collaborate around academic data?

  9. 6. Special Populations Describe programs/procedures used to support Migrant, English Learners, Economically Disadvantaged, Special Education, Neglected and/or Delinquent and Homeless.

  10. 7. Special Populations (Carl Perkins Act) Only applies to secondary settings Describe programs/procedures used to support access to Career Technical programs. Address individuals with disabilities, economically disadvantaged, foster children, single parents, etc .

  11. 8. Extended Learning Opportunities How does the school provide additional academic opportunities for students identified as academically needy beyond the school day?

  14. Annual Meetings Explain how will meetings be convened Describe the information that will be addressed during meeting, including 1% set-aside and Parents Right to Know

  15. Meetings/Planning Describe the format and flexible scheduling of parent meetings. How will parents be involved in the planning and budgeting? What specifically will funds be used for in the school?

  16. Communication Describe the process that will be used make sure parents receive information in a timely manner. What methods will be used to get information out to parents? What are the procedures for requesting meetings/conferences? How will parents be able to provide feedback on the program?

  17. Shared Responsibility Describe how parents, school staff and students share responsibility for improved student achievement. Include description of development process for the School –Parent Compact and how it is used in the school

  18. CIP Feedback What procedures are used to facilitate parent feedback on the Continuous Improvement Plan? What is the process for parents to share comments about dissatisfaction?

  19. Capacity Building No Child Left Behind defined six (6) areas that must be addressed by schools toward building capacity in parents and stakeholders School team must describe activities that support each requirement

  20. Diverse Populations/Special Needs Parents What supports are in place to ensure that parents who are represented in a “diverse population” (English Learner, special education, migrant, etc) have equal access?

  23. Availability of Plan How will the plan be made available to the LEA, parents and the public?

  24. Multiple Criteria What are the multiple criteria and weighted values used to identify targeted students? What is the cut-off score for the eligibility list?

  25. Timely Assistance Describe rank order of student services. How will identified students be selected to ensure that that most academically needy students receive services?

  26. Supplemental Assistance How will timely supplemental assistance be provided to identified students?

  27. Exiting Criteria What will be the factors used to determine if a student has met the standard? What are the procedures used to exit a student from the program?

  28. Regular Program Coordination How will the Title I program be coordinated with and supported by the regular education program?

  29. Resource Coordination How will Title I funds be used to coordinate and supplement existing services? *NOTE: Funds cannot be used to provide services that, in the absence of Title I funds, would be provided by another fund source.

  30. Title I Personnel How will Title I personnel be integrated into the regular program? Address planning and professional development.

  31. Additional Component If the school is identified for school improvement, describe the teacher mentoring support provided to new and/or inexperienced teachers.
