Counter Movement Jump Squats By: Nathan Boylan, Bryden Burrell, Hilary Graham
What We’ll Cover • Hypothesis • Analysis Method • Collection Method • Jump Analysis • Errors • Methods • Conclusion
Hypothesis • In the duration of one minute, jump height will continually decrease as more jumps are performed.
Analysis Method • Subject 1 performed task while subject 2 records video • Subject 2 performed task while subject 1 records video • Video files analyzed using Kinovea • Data manually inputted into Microsoft Excel Document • Graphs created to indicate relationship between time and jump height
Collection Method • Equipment • iPad (Camera Application) • Desktop computer • Kinovea • Microsoft Excel
Errors • Subject 1 had 53.2% of his jumps rejected • Subject 2 only completed 56 seconds of the 1 minute requirement. • There is approximately a 5° margin of error on all knee angles
Methods • Have the video recording device on a tripod. • Correct orientation of video file. • Have more visible tracking points on subjects body. • Working with a more advanced software.
Conclusion • Our data and results support our original hypothesis that “In the duration of one minute, jump height will continually decrease as more jumps are performed”
