  8. Spring Graduation Applications • The application for graduation should be available. Run a Degree Audit as soon as you have registered for Spring to see if you will clear. If your audit is “blue or blue-enough” you should immediately apply for graduation.

  9. Observation Hours • Prior to graduating it is recommended you get a minimum of 25 clinic observation hours • These can be obtained anywhere (The Clinical Process will give some guided observation hours) as long as there is an ASHA certified SLP/A • Make sure you keep a log of these hours (log form located in boxes at back of clinic) • Get a variety of observations

  10. ASHA requirements • ASHA requires that you have: • Biological Science • Physical Science • College level Math • Social Science • Statistics • If you are not sure you meet these requirements see your advisor ASAP

Information You Need • Continue to check your catamount email throughout the break in case we need to get in touch with you (class time change or room assignment) • If you have not had one of the required ASHA courses – either UG course or science, math, social science you need to complete this ASAP – see your advisor with concerns/questions **new statistics requirement (if applying for certification after 9/1/2014) • Attendance @ Cullowhee Conference is required (March 14th – ½ day, March 15th – all day) • NCSHLA scholarship, Cheshire Center Scholarship • Clinic placements will be given out in the next month for spring

  21. Remediation of “C” grades • 1st C – required to take a comp in that subject the following semester • 2nd C – automatic reduction in load by 3 hours the following semester (excluding summer) and take a comp in that/those subject(s) the following semester • 3rd C – set out one semester (excluding summer), take comp in that subject the following semester

Remediation of “C” • C in clinic – assigned to SHC following semester and will complete a clinical comp in area of weakness the following semester • All comps will be scheduled to be completed by the 11th week of the semester • If you fail the comp you will be required to take the course the next time it is offered – even if you have graduated – your forms will not be signed (for ASHA, state license) until course is retaken and passed

  23. CAA visit • Visit will be April 8 & 9, 2013

  24. KASA • Please see your advisor in the next two weeks to start/update/complete your KASA form
