Degraded Image Meredith Motsinger
Step One First, I printed off the image.
Step Two Then, I cut out the parts of the photo that I liked the most.
Step Three I stitched two of the cut-outs with red thread.
Step Four The little old man decided that he wanted to go for a swim so I froze him in some ice…
Step Five And stuck him in the fishbowl!
Step Six Next, I transferred the image to my computer and printed it out.
Step Seven Then, I decided to add some of the little old man’s original surroundings back into the scene.
Step Eight By this point, the picture had started to remind me of a band I had listened to growing up, so I added ‘Hootie & the Blowfish’ to the top. I also outlined the rocks and plant with a pen.
Step Nine I scanned this updated photo into my computer and made two copies. The first was black & white and the second was supposed to be color, but apparently my printer was running out of ink so it resulted in the greenish image.
Step Ten After that, I cut both copies into strips...
Step Eleven And weaved them together.
Step Twelve Finally, I photographed it under a blacklight.
