Who is LifeLight? • Mission: “Taking the Church outside the walls, bringing LIGHT into the darkness with the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ” (John 8:12) • Vision: LifeLight is reaching and rescuing people for Christ locally, regionally, nationally and globally through music and other relevant means to impact millions now and eternally. (Acts 1:8)

Timeline of LifeLight Staffing • 1998-2004: Volunteer run ministry • 2001: Board of Directors established • 2002: Alan & Vicki begin full-time ministry • 2004: First staff hires • Festival Director • Missions Director • Outreach Director • Finance Manager • Church Relations/Development • Executive Assistant

  5. Timeline of Staffing Cont. • Today: Staff of 16 • 13 full-time • 3 part-time • Executive Suite: CEO, COO, President • Staff Leadership • Development Team

  6. 1 – Building Unity & Passion in your Team • Expect and promote excellence • Be passionate about the vision • Encourage them to act on the vision and be able to convey and own the vision (they will be more loyal if they own the vision) • They need to be “called” • Find like-minded people for your mission

  7. Building Unity & Passion Cont. • Find people that have skills that you don’t • Be willing to delegate (but follow through) • Be trusting • Empower them • Think relationally

  8. Building Unity & Passion Cont. • Define expectations clearly • Find “give and take” team players • Expect and lead with honesty • Expect and lead with integrity • Over-emphasize the obvious (your mission statement and philosophy)

  10. 2 – Balance & Leading through Tough Decisions • Serve together • Play together • Have clear boundaries • Family time • Working with the opposite sex • Follow-up communications in writing • Don’t let problems fester – address them

  12. 3 – Spiritually Pour into Your Team • Worship together • Pray together • Study together – devotions • Spiritual warfare – address it • Working in Ministry • It will never be comfortable • Stay steadfast • If you are doing nothing, the enemy won't attack
