  2. EDUCATION AND TRAINING • If you want to become a military police officer you must be a U.S citizen, have a valid drivers license and have no record of offense involving force or violence. You must be able to pass a background and color vision test. They will check your credit history and drug and alcohol test. • This MOS requires a 5 year enlistment and a minimum age of 18. You will be training at Ft. Leonardwood, MO which includes Basic and AIT for 20 weeks.

  3. Job skills, talents, and experiences necessary • Some good qualities that are helpful are self-discipline, initiative, confidence, and intelligence. You should also be physically fit and able to perform under mental pressure. Another thing you should be able to do is make quick decision while still focused on the mission.

  4. Earning-What you will make? • The U.S. pays according to your rank and time in service. In addition to your basic pay you may receive special pay for special duties or skills that may qualify. The army will also provide allowances for housing, meals and uniforms.

  5. Benefits/health care/vacation • As a soldier you and your family are automatically covered by a health care plan called TRICARE. It provides medical and dental care at little or no cost. Soldiers on active duty will receive 30 days of vacation earned annually, weekends free, national holidays, and sick days as needed.

  6. Employment Outlook • The army has many interesting jobs in different areas provided if you qualify and a vacancy exists. On Goarmy.com you can browse through the many categories.

  7. Advancement opportunities • Once you decide to join the army your success depends on your qualifications, desire, commitment, and demonstration of leadership potential. Promotions are automatic from E-1 to E-4 by time in grade, time in service and by approval of your commander.

  8. Typical Day • A typical day for a military police officer looks like this. After all initial entry level training is complete. Most soldiers work Monday through Friday from 9-5 but actual work schedules depend on mission requirements and MOS. What you do on your off time is up to you.

  9. Aptitude • The skills that I would probably have are intelligent, came make hard decisions while still focused on the mission . I would probably be good at being physically. I am a citizen of the US and I don’t have any record of offensive involving force or violence.
