The Maastricht Multi-stack • Multi-stack configuration works • Accommodates FANS1/A aircraft in MAS UAC airspace to interface with the ATN SARPS compliant FDPS • Full transparency for the end-users • It takes advantage of existing FANS1/A equipped aircraft: • Potentially 10% flights in MAS UAC could be FANS1/A equipped. This translates to 10 000 AGDL flights/month • Supports IRRF work • Enabler to develop joint oceanic and domestic AGDL-procedures • develop global Domestic-Oceanic Air Ground Data Link procedures (SPOM) • Airlines can choose preferred protocol • Extension possible

Way forward • ATN activities start again in 2003 • We can progress already now when we make use of FANS1/A and focus on the commonality with ATN and accommodate the differences. • We serve our users best when we succeed to establish a uniform AG Data Link system that makes the best use of the available Air-Ground communication means • AG Data Link implementation can be boosted when we can provide evidence from daily operational use, to confirm the calculated and simulated benefits
