Web - resource • Intended to help centre managers plan the assessment of the new National Qualifications from National 2 to National 5 • Developed in partnership with ADES, SLS, SCIS and Colleges Scotland • Set of tables which outline the Course structures and assessment methods • Set of key questions that may help managers to consider strategic and operational factors

  3. Unit Assessment - Recap • Flexible and open assessment standards and evidence requirements • Generic assessment criteria based on fewer and broader outcomes • Greater range of techniques and methodologies for assessment • Teachers/lecturers decide method and context • Some assessment designed to provide evidence across more than one outcome or unit

  4. Course Assessment - Recap • Almost all Courses at National 5 (and above) have coursework and a questions paper • Introduction of internal assessment of Courses at SCQF level 4 • Introduction of Controlled Assessment • Must use 7 agreed assessment methods

Do you need to provide an assessment framework/planner for learners? Do you need to make any additional arrangements for re-assessment? 3. Are there any additional implications for the welfare of learners? Are there any additional arrangements you would need to make for learners who are absent and miss assessments? Are there any additional arrangements you would need to make for learners who require extra time or support? 4. Do staff need additional help to manage assessment? Do teaching/lecturing staff need additional support and training? Do administration staff need additional support and training?
