  3. Memory Verse In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

  4. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

  5. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

  6. And God said, “Let there be light,”* and there was light.

  7. It’s dark over here! God saw that the light was good,* and he separated the light from the darkness.*

  8. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”* And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

  18. And there was evening,* and there was morning* —the 3rd day.

  49. Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground* and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,* and the man became a living being.
