3. Draco Occidentalis Maritimus- Frost dragon Frost dragons are large beasts with four legs, full wings and are light in colour. Some grow to about 40 feet long and 12 – 15 feet high. Their skin colour is actually pure white or white tinged with a light blue or pink. The ice dragons live in caves on icebergs, they like the lairs to be facing the sea so that they can see if any danger approaches. Each year the frost dragon flies thousands of miles around the artic regions to make sure they spend most of the time in their favourite dark, winter climates hunting for food. They usually eat giant squid, polar bear, orca, walrus or leopard seals. Because of their quite reasonable diet they live for up to 300 years.

5. Draco Marsupialis- Marsupial dragon Marsupial dragons are not as big as frost dragons, however, they do have, like the frost dragon, four legs, wings but have a fiery pouch on their underbelly. Some grow to be about 25 feet long and 15 – 18 feet high, so they are taller than frost dragons. Unlike the frost dragons they have dark skin which is a green or blue-ish colour. Marsupial dragons live in rocky caves in the Blue Mountains in the eucalyptus forests of Australia. They are thought however to be extinct, but they are largely populated in Australia. It breaths blue smoke which can often start bush fires but also to catch prey as they are driven towards the flames. The marsupial dragon’s diet consists of any large marsupials, but smaller ones if they are rearing young.

7. Draco Africanus- Wyvern dragon The African wyvern is one of he largest of dragons it does have full wings but it only has two legs. The Africanus can be as tall as 18 – 20 feet and an astonishing 50 feet long. The wyverns have muddy brown or lime green skin colour. The African wyvern lives in rocky crags or possibly a circular nest in an area of sand or grass. Unlike most other dragons the wyvern only has two legs. However, being the largest form of dragon it finds these perfectly useful for carrying off its elephant prey. Apart from elephants the African wyvern eats hippos, rhinos or any other large herbivores.

9. Draco Occidentalis- European dragon The European dragon is the second largest type of dragon. They have four legs, full wings and are dark in colour. It is 13 – 17 feet high and is up to 45 feet in length. The European dragon can be red, green, black or even gold in colour. They like to live in remote areas, for instance in mountains or sea caves. They are known most to people because of their ability to breath fire and their love of treasure. Effective at using language, they shed their skin every three years. These dragons like to eat cattle, sheep or humans they like to eat in order left to right because of the bitterness of the flavour of humans. Like the frost dragons the European dragons also live for 300 years.

11. Draco Serpentalis- Lindworm dragon Lindworm are small dragons, they only have two legs like wyvern but they haven't got any wings. Lindworm are from 8 – 10 feet high but are 35 feet long. They can be a variable colour but they are mainly green or sandy yellow. They live in shallow scratches or nest in the earth out of the wind. Their feet glide like that of a pony, the Lindworm is often seen at a distance, sometimes in pairs, chasing its prey of wild Bactrian camels on the huge, empty steppes of the Asian interior. Apart from the Bactrian camels, Lindworm sometimes like to rampage on silk caravans at night. The Lindworm only lives for up to 120 years though, so they are becoming less in number.

13. Draco Orientalis- Asian lung dragon Asian lung dragons are fairly big but not as much as the European or wyvern dragons. They have four legs, no wings but a magnificent mane. These dragons are up to 15 feet high and 40 feet long. They are like the Lindworm except that they have more legs and are taller. The Asian lung comes in blues, whites, blacks, reds or yellows. They are often found beside rivers or lakes that hide their underwater lairs. Females carry their eggs with them for safe keeping whereas they keep their pearls and opals hoarded away. The lung likes to eat fish and birds but they do like roasted swan. It is a myth to how long Asian lungs live for but it is estimated that they live well over 300 years.

15. Draco Montana- Tibetan dragon Like the Asian lung they are in similar size. They have four legs but no wings. The Tibetan dragon is up to 40 feet long and 12 feet high. They are thinner and redder, however from the Asian lung, the Tibetan dragon is a lover of high altitudes. Its main prey is the Himalayan yeti; a large ape that has adapted to the cold and low-oxygenated atmosphere around the mountains. They live on the open mountainside in the summer but in winter they live in a shallow den of snow. Apart from the yeti the Tibetan dragon also eats yak. They also live for as long as the Asian lung but not quite as long.

17. Draco americanus m/tex- Am./mx. amphithere The American amphithere is quite a large moth like creature. It is only 5 – 10 feet high but it is a massive 45 feet long. They are all definitely green. The American amphithere has no legs however it does have large moth or feathery like wings. They like to live among the reeds in lakesides or on off-shore islands. Apart from the commonly known Mexican feathered amphithere there is a furry North American variety that usually hunts buffalo and has been mistaken for a giant moth. The amphitheres eat any large mammals of the Americas, especially llamas in the south and buffalos in the north.
