  1. Monitoring of normal pregnancy was based on both clinical and ultrasound. The latter is of particular importance since the advent of new machines and technical progress since ultrasound can detect morphological abnormalities that may fall in the context of lethal malformations indicating the interruption of pregnancy and even at a very early term.During the study period, were detected six cases of short femur in the practice of ultrasound: two in the second quarter (15 SA 22 SA) and four in the third quarter near term. The discovery of short femurs need for a comprehensive morphological study to identify other malformations. In fact, the morphological study has detected other malformations mainly members (short humerus, radial agenesis, clubfeet) and the brain (agenesis of the corpus callosum, holoprosencephaly). In the first case of short femur; naked amniocentesis was performed which revealed trisomy 18 and the penalty was therapeutic medical termination of pregnancy as well in the second case diagnosed at 22 SA given the importance of birth related (morphological ultrasound). On four other cases of short femur and the diagnosis was eventually el route of delivery was vaginal. Ultrasound is a critical element in the monitoring of a normal pregnancy and the discovery of a defect should be investigated systematically associated with other malformations can within a poly malformation syndrome since the treatment is different. The monitoring of the pregnancy is both clinical and para clinical. Ultrasound has largely contributed to the detection of morphological abnormalities within the scope of malformation syndromes poly incompatible with a normal life. The short femurs are one of the ultrasound appearances that may be associated with malformations vital. To describe the sonographic appearances of short femur and associated anomalies and to clarify the management that follows. PURPOSE This is a retrospective study of six cases of short femurs collected at the service of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Monastir in 2009 In the first case of short femur; naked amniocentesis was performed which revealed trisomy 18 and the penalty was therapeutic medical termination of pregnancy as well in the second case diagnosed at 22 SA given the importance of birth related (morphological ultrasound). On four other cases of short femur and the diagnosis was eventually el route of delivery was vaginal. .
