What is Bullying? • A bully is an aggressive person who intimidates or mistreats weaker people. • Webster’s Definition: One who is habitually threatening, harsh, or cruel to others weaker or smaller than himself. “If you're horrible to me, I'm going to write a song about it, and you won't like it. That's how I operate.” ― Taylor Swift
True or False • Bullying is bad for everyone? • Being bullied might hurt a person’s feelings, but it doesn’t cause lasting harm. • If you do what a bully says, he or she will leave you alone. • You shouldn’t get involved if you see bullying. It’s none of your business. • The best way to deal with a bully is to fight him or her. • Adults can help stop bullying.
Cultural Responsive Teaching • Small Groups • EPR • Partners “When people hurt you over and over, think of them like sand paper. They may scratch and hurt you a bit, but in the end, you end up polished and they end up useless.” ― Chris Colfer
