Library Student Learning Outcome • Familiar with Delta College Library’s website and be able to log on to such subscription online Databases as PowerSearch on and off the campus • Understand the functions and features of PowerSearch • Be able to conduct a Boolean keyword search in PowerSearch and limit to peer-reviewed, academic journal articles • Be able to evaluate and cite retrieved sources in MLA and APA styles

  4. Conduct a Phrase or an Effective Keyword Search • Identify keywords or phrase for the search • Limit your search to full-text articles and peer-reviewed publications before clicking on the search button

Conduct an Effective Keyword Search • Use one or more Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to thread your keywords together if needed • Use quotation marks around a phrase • Use * to search various word endings • Limit your search to full-text articles and peer-reviewed publications before clicking on the search button
