An Honored Girl ScoutMaya Bloom Maya Bloom has been a dedicated Girl Scout for the past 13 years. In 2011, Maya Bloom was elected to be a delegate at the state convention and served as an instructor at Camporee from 2009 to 2011. Recently, Maya Bloom has been honored with the Girl Scout Gold Award after completing a two-phase project. For this project, Maya Bloom built an outdoor classroom, and then presented students with a brochure that guided them through outdoor activities. This project took 333 hours to complete over the course of one year.
Gifted SpeakerMaya Bloom Maya Bloom is a gifted speaker and has received a considerable amount of recognition for her speech abilities. Maya Bloom was the school and district winner for both the American Legion Oratorical Contest and the Voice of Democracy Speech Contest. Along with public speaking, Maya Bloom is extremely passionate about forensics. Thus, it was to no surprise when Maya Bloom took 1st Place at the Forensics Competition for her persuasive speech in 2010. In 2010 and 2011, Maya Bloom took 4th Place in the state at the American Legion Oratorical Contest.
Maya Bloom Goes “Outward Bound” Outward Bound is a tradition for Maya Bloom and her family. After her sophomore year of high school, Maya Bloom chose to partake in the Maine Sailing and Service Expedition. Maya Bloom believed that this was the right trip for her because it included more than one service project. Stopping at multiple islands, Maya Bloom would spend between 12 and15 hours each Day restoring buildings or building new campsites. When the project was completed, Maya Bloom and her team ended up investing 150 hours in preserving small island communities off the coast of Maine.
