  2. IllegalDrugs • Medicines are legal drugsifthey are usedcorrectly. SomedrugsshouldNEVER be used. • Illegaldrugs: drugsthat are not medicines and that are againstthelaw to sell, buy, have, or use. • Peoplewho break thelaw can go to prison. Illegaldrugsalso can damagethebody and evenkill a person.

  3. Overdose: is a dangerouslylargedose of a drug. • It can cause illnessorevendeath. • Ifthedrugs are takenawaytheusersexperiencewithdrawal. • Withdrawal: isthepainfulreactionthatoccurswhensomeonesuddenlystopsusing a drug.

  4. Symptoms of Withdrawal • Vomiting • Shaking • Seeing and hearingthingsthataren´tthere • Seizures

  5. Cocaine and Crack • Cocaine: isanillegaldrugmadefromtheleaves of the coca plant.

  6. Crack: is a rocklikeform of cocainethatuserssmoke.

  7. Marijuana and Inhalants • Marijuana: isanillegaldrugthat comes from a tall, leafyplant. • Isusuallysmoked • Marijuanainterfereswiththebrain, such as: • Memoryloss • Coordination • Speech • Reading comprehension • Problemsolving

  8. Inhalants: are commonproductsthatsomepeople abuse bybreathingtheir fumes. • Effects of breethinginhalantsinclude: • Nosebleeds • Headaches • Confusion • Memoryloss • Nausea • Changes in heartbeat and breathingrates.

  9. YoushouldRefuseIllegalDrugs • Refuse: whenyousay no to doingsomething. • There are manyreasonsyoushouldrefuse to use illegaldrugs, • Drugshurtnotonlytheusersbutalsoeverybodyaroundthem. Drugusersoften stop making positive contributions to theirfamilies, friendships, and communities.
