  7. Simple Facts About The Republic of Uganda (1) • Location: East Africa, west of Kenya. 1 00 N, 32 00 E • Capital City: Kampala • Airport: Entebbe • Independent: 1962 • Population: 25.8 million (UN, 2003)

  27. MakLIBIS (8) • Services: • The Library operates a closed access system. • The collection is loaned according to demand. Africana, IDA, Law and Periodicals Only for 2 hours per loan

  28. MakLIBIS (9) ICT Services • Currently the library has an online catalogue (OPAC) //libis.mak.ac.ug Planning to have 117 access points • Computer situation: • Two computer labs at the ML (80) • Each staff has a computer • Several in each branch libraries • Total PC 200
