  1. This Place Matters Lydia Stocks

  2. 113 Hammond Street The train station was essential to the growth of Rocky Mount. The train station is important to me because where I grew up I heard a train everyday so to be able to relate that everyday experience with an iconic part of Rocky Mount is really cool to me.

  3. 404 South Church Street The fire station supplied what was needed to save many home and lives in house and other fires. This fire station, as well as all others, is important to me because it represents the heroic work that firefighters do everyday which is such an inspiration to me.

  4. 306 South Grace Street The MacHaven House was built in 1910 by J. W. Hines who substantially dedicated time and money for the greater good of Rocky Mount. I think the MacHaven House is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in all of Rocky Mount. Its Greek Revival style is what appeals most to me.

  5. Falls Road Falls Road is historic because it portrays how beautiful Rocky Mount is through its historic architecture. Every Tuesday evening I have the privilege of getting to drive down Falls Road. I absolutely love it because I get to see all of the beautiful old houses which were like mansions when they were first built.
