  5. The Rocky Mount Lowes • This place matters to me because it is the reason we moved to NC (My Father’s Job Transfer) • This place matters to its area because it sells supplies to local businesses and locals ---Built in 1946 ---Employs thousands of people ---Sells hardware

The Rocky Mount YMCA • This place matters to me because they taught my sister how to swim and it saved her life. • This place matters to its area because it is a recreational center ---Largest recreational center in Rocky Mount ---Has a pool, weight room, rock wall, etc. ---The biggest recreational center in Rocky Mount that is family owned
