READ 180 - A Pilot Study • Eleven Students - Experimental • Eleven Students - Control • Characteristics • Bi-Polar • Psychotic Behavior • ODD • Intermittent explosive behavior • ADHD with psychotic episodes • A-typical autism
Pilot Study • Two classes began the program in October 2001. The control class could not sustain the intervention and the teacher returned to traditional reading instruction (teacher directed) after the first week. The experimental group continued with the READ 180 program as well as an adapted behavior management program.

Next Steps • Currently collecting data on special and general education teachers across three schools. • Integrated a technology survey and observation to understand technology implications. • Plan to bring three additional schools online in the next 6-8 months. • Developing an technology-based support environment (online) to assist teachers in integrating READ 180.
