  6. Rule of Thumb (Ohms Law)Used to determine how much electricity a circuit can handle. A little about electricity:So, what is more deadly, the amps or volts. Given your body is a constant resistance, it really is a combination of both. Higher voltage means higher amperage, and thus higher voltage has more potential to kill.   8. Calculate the following: • How many watts can you put on a 15 amp circuit? (voltage is 110)? • A 1600 watt lamp needs how many amps (voltage is 115)? 8

PROPERTY OF PIMA COUNTY JTED, 2010 Use proper procedures when plugging and unplugging lights. • Switch off lights/equipment first if possible • Plug cord into equipment first and then into wall or power source • Unplug at wall/power source first • Pull at plug – not on cord • One-handed • Never while leaning on, lying, sitting, or kneeling on floor or metal objects • Announce to crew before plugging or unplugging power
