Step 2. Applications All IIC Interns must complete an IIC Application. Found at suu.edu/iic Applications are submitted directly to the Agency Contact person listed in the posting
Step 3. Paper Screening • 3 day posting requirement • Veterans Preference • Appendix 8 – Mentor Guidebook • Age Requirement • Must be 16 years old or older
Step 5. Interviewing and Selection • Interviews Conducted by Agency • Phone or in person • Students vs. Non-Students • Notify the IIC of Selection via Internship Agreement submission • SUU Conducts official hire • Report the total number of applications received
If a selected Intern leaves their position within the first three months of the hire, a replacement Intern can be selected from the existing applicant pool without re-advertising the position
Step 6. Complete the Online Agreement & Budget Form Budget Sheet
Step 7. Complete HR Process • Approved I9 Documents • Set up direct deposit • HR signature on agreement signature page • IIC Orientation • Would like as many interns as possible to start on Orientation May 7th

Travel Reimbursement Key Points • Include Destination City • Description of Location • Where: where did they start from where did they go • What: what were they doing • Days: If it was more than a one day trip • Confirm Daily Per Diem Rate with Intern • If not applicable put 0
29 Hour Requests • Only for Non-students • Recent Grads • Non-SUU Students • Only enrolled in UNIV-2890 • Intern Status • Extension Start and End Dates • Explanation • Signature **Digital Form coming soon!!!** **Adjust Intern Agreement Form must be completed Before 29 Hour Extension Request**
HR/Payroll Info • Pay periods (1-15 & 16-end of the month) • SUU work week (Saturday-Friday) • Total internship 1500 hours • Pay dates (10th & 25th) • Overtime • When to submit time
Late Time • Intern Name • T-number • Job Number • Full Date: MM/DD/YY • Mentors DO NOT sign as the supervisor • Tayia Burge (Internship Coordinator) will sign as the supervisor
Intern Hourly Report This form is used to confirm the hours that interns are working Items to Confirm: • Total Hours Worked • Overtime • Approvals for 29 Hours Extensions
Academic Credit All internships are required to be tied to an academic credit SUU Courses: EDGE, Practicums, Departmental Internships, UNIV 2890 Non-SUU interns will need to contact their respective Universities to make arrangements Special Considerations can be made e.g. high school students, recent grads, two academic credit fulfillments
