  3. ArcGIS 10.4 release series • ArcGIS 10.4 was released in January 2016 • Lots of new functionality: the focus of this session • ArcGIS 10.4.1 was made available May 2016 • Pure maintenance release, bug fixes only • New security baseline

  6. Single Cluster Mode • Introduced in ArcGIS 10.3.1 for Server as an opt-in • With ArcGIS 10.4 for Server it is the default for new andupgraded sites(unless the site being upgraded has multiple clusters)

  8. Read-Only Mode • Disables all administrative functionality • Except adding and removing machines from the site • Useful for change management • Better manage publishing of services to production sites • Improve site resiliency for multi-machine sites

New security default: Geoprocessing services and server extensions • Publishing of geoprocessing services, SOEs, and SOIsnow limited to administrators by default • Applies to both new and upgraded sites • Option exists to revert to previous behavior and allow publishers as well. Also part of security patch for 10.2.2 and 10.3.1: ArcGIS for Server Security 2016 Update 2 Patch
