  1. In the Neolithic Period, the first inhabitants of Great Britain started the construction of Stonehenge, a circle of big stones. It is 5,000 years old. You can visit it in the South of England. Origins

  2. The Celts • They came to England from Germany. (70 BC) • The had red hair and blue eyes. • They lived in tribes and loved fighting. • They had special priests called druids. • The Celtic language is still present in Ireland and Wales and it is studied in Welsh and Irish schools. • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28soKCP03yE

  3. The Romans • They came to England (55BC). • England became part of the Roman Empire. • They founded London and lots of cities. • The Emperor Hadrian built a wall to keep the aggressive Scots out of England.

  4. The Anglo-Saxons • The Anglo-Saxons invaded England in 450 AD. • They came from Northern parts of Europe and they had a Germanic language. • We can considered this language the first form of English, the Old English. • They divided England into 8 different kingdoms.
