CASE:MULTI-SENSUAL SHOPPING CENTRE • A specific non-stop Workshop area was designed within the Shopping Centre RajallaPåGränsen. • The purpose of the workshop was to offer to customers a possibility to develop the Shopping Centre to an enjoyable place to shop and spend time in. • 150 customers visited. • Individual or joint ideas for a more creative, experimental and multi-sensual Shopping Centre. 4th ENoLL Living Lab Summer School Jäminki&Saranne

CASE:MULTI-SENSUAL SHOPPING CENTRE • A range of methods: Candy paper vote including reward for users, images, sounds, a touch screen element (Sinco), 3-D paper Shopping Centre, stationary and pens, ideation wall, building formulas and marking spots. Tailor-made and easy ways to participate WHAT DID WE LEARN? • There is a need of involvement and drastic actions from University staff when establishing a Living Lab. • University staff’s and researchers’ work functioned as a catapult for development, but the ideas came from all the parties involved. • Implementations need to be tailored to the context in Lapland. • LL methods and practices are fairly unknown. • People are ready and willing to participate - F2F & Digital. 4th ENoLL Living Lab Summer School Jäminki&Saranne

STUDENT RESEARCH FOCUS • Researchers producing new knowledge during face-to-face workshops • planned qualitative, mainly ethnographic research • gathered information in the form of observations, modelling, interviews • planned and organized several events and co-creation workshops • analyzed EläväLappi communication system, website and social media use • developed and innovated social media use • took part in co-creation of knowledge • innovated integration of social media • people living in rural, remote areas need flexible participation channels • digital spaces are important spaces for the younger generation • Designers producing new visions for developing the City of Tornio, Shopping Centre Rajalla/påGränsen, the City of Rovaniemi 4th ENoLL Living Lab Summer School Jäminki&Saranne
