  4. Platform on Animal Welfare (1) • 24 January 2017: Adoption oftheCommissionDecisionconcerningthePlatformon AnimalWelfare • 30 January 2017: Call ofapplicationfortheselectionofmembers - deadline 6 March • June 2017: Inauguralmeeting • 75 members, 2 meetings per year

Platform on Animal Welfare (2) • Allow for the exchange of best practices, scientific knowledge and innovation • Facilitate the development and the use of voluntary commitments by businesses • Contribute to better enforcement of EU legislation on animal welfare • Promote animal welfare into global agendas
