Internal assessment Pl x 2 = 12 DCP x 2 = 12 DEC x 2 = 12 PS x 1 = 6 Total = 42 This is then scaled to give a total out of 20%.
IA rules • The IAs should be typed (except for graphs). • A paper copy should be handed into the Science Office (where you must sign). An electronic copy must also be submitted. • Each IA needs a signed cover sheet paper clipped to the front. Your name and cohort should be in a header on every page, the pages numbered and the title should be on the first page. • A copy of the instruction sheet must be included with the paper copy handed in. • If handed in late (without a pre-arranged extension) the IA will not be returned to you for improvements.
IA deadlines • You will have lesson time for IAs only in Year 12 and some will be set as Homework. • You must have 2 of each category (Pl, DCP, DEC) submitted by the summer. • If you have not, parents will be informed and compulsory after-school sessions will need to be attended. • You may submit further IAs to improve your result before Christmas in Year 13. • No IAs may be submitted after Christmas Year 13.
Lab files • You will need to purchase an A4 file with dividers. This should be brought to every lesson. • In this you will keep your introduction booklet and your copy of the syllabus. • Any sheets you are given can be kept in this file in the appropriate topic section. • Home works returned to you marked should be kept in this folder in the appropriate topic section.
