The difference between a series circuit and parallel circuit Name: Hassan Al-Thani Date:30/11/2010 Class:8D Teacher:Mr.White
Whats a series circuit • A series circuit is one that connects an electrical source with its components one after the other, forming a single loop. The current flowing through each electrical components in a series circuit is the same. The disadvantage of a series circuit is that a break in any part of the circuit stops the flow of current in the whole circuit.
Whats a parallel circuit • A parallel circuit is one that splits into two or more braches. The current flowing through each branch in the parallel circuit may be the same or different. But it is definitely less than the current flowing out from the source.
Differences • The difference between a series circuit and a parallel circuit is that. The series circuit connects an electrical source with its components one after the other by forming a single loop but a parallel circuit splits into two or more branches. The flowing for a series circuit through each electrical component in a series circuit is the same, but for a parallel circuit the flowing through each branch in a parallel circuit maybe be the same or different.
Advantages & disadvantages • The advantage of a parallel circuit is that the fig is 9.9 and 9.10 and the disadvantage of a series circuit is that a break in any part of the circuit can stop the flow of current in the whole circuit
