Current Activities (2) Revisions and New RSSs in progress: • RSS-142 (Issue 3) – Narrowband Multipoint Communication Systems in the 1429.5-1430.5 MHz and 1493.5-1496.5 (Issue 2 - (1427-1430 MHz) August 2002, Provisional) • Waiting for decision from RABC (WG or email correspondence) since Sept 2006. • Should we delay the publication until decision is made to add 1430.5-1432 MHz? • RSS-194 (Issue 1 - New)- Fixed Wireless Access Systems in the Band 953-960 MHz • Waiting for decision from RABC (WG or email correspondence) since Sept 2006. • RSS-133 (Issue 4) – 2 GHz Personal Communication Services • Revising the frequency band from 1850-1910 MHz and 1930-1990 MHz to 1850-1915 MHz and 1930-1995 MHz, respectively to reflect proposal in IC consultation paper DGTP-002-07. • Draft RSS-133 Issue 4 to be circulated. • RSS-192 (Issue 2) – Fixed Wireless Access Equipment Operating in the band 3450-3650 MHz • To harmonize the following with the ETSI standard: • Output Power Tolerance ±1 dB to ±2 dB • New Unwanted Emission Mask • To be circulated. • RSS-182 (Issue 4)RSS-282 (Issue 1) – Maritime Radio Transmitters and Receivers in the Band 156-162.5 MHz (Sept 2003) • Has been Updated based on comments received from Transport Canada. • Re-Format.
Current Activities (3) Future work: • RSS-137 (Issue 2) – Location and Monitoring Service (902-928 MHz) - Revisit to harmonize with FCC standard (Last Issue dated 1999) • RSS-170 (Issue 2) – Satellite Mobile Earth Stations • Revisit to be in line with international standard for mobile earth station • (New) Include certification requirements for Ancillary Terrestrial Components (ATCS) in the 1.6 GHz • RSS-191 (Issue 3) - Local Multipoint Communication Systems in the 28 GHz Band; Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Broadband Communication Systems in the 24 GHz and 38 GHz Bands (August 2002) • Remove certification requirement for point-to-point equipment in the 38 GHz pending decision from RABC. • RSS-210 (Issue 8)– Low Power, Licence-Exempt Devices (Category I) • Annex 2 (A2.8) 88-108 MHz Issue (Field strength limits) • Add requirements for UWB and Vehicular Radar devices. • Measurement Procedure for DFS devices in the 5250-5350 MHz and 5470‑5725 MHz bands. To address 5600-5650MHz band. • RSS-243 (Issue 2) - Active Medical Implants Operating in the 402-405 MHz Band • To add 401-402 MHz and 405-406 MHz Bands. • Have not received any input. • RSS-102 (Issue 2) - Radio Frequency Exposure Compliance of Radiocommunication Apparatus (All Frequency Bands) (November 2005) • Base Station issues. • RSS-136 (Issue 5) RSS-236 (Issue 1) - Land and Mobile Station Radiotelephone Transmitters and Receivers Operating in the 26.960 - 27.410 MHz General Radio Service Band (Oct 2002) • Revisit the limits for the unwanted receiver emission, • Re-format • RSS-138 (Issue 1) RSS-238 (Issue 1) - Commercial Shipborne Radar in the 2900-3100 MHz, 5470-5650 MHz and 9225-9500 MHz Bands (Feb 2004) • Re-Format
Current Activities (4) On Hold: • RSS-193 (Issue 1) - Multipoint and Point-to-Point Communication Systems (MCS) in the Fixed Service Operating in the 2150-2160 MHz, 2500-2596 MHz and 2686-2690 MHz • Pending until final decision on the band plan. • RSS-??? - 3650-3700 MHz Wireless Broadband Services to reflect new proposed spectrum in DGTP-006-06 • We are monitoring the Policy Consultation Paper and FCC actions for the development of this standard.
Update on ICES Recently Published: (Since January 2007) ICES-002 (Issue 4) Spark Ignition Systems of Vehicles and Other Devices Equipped with Internal Combustion Engines (February 2007) ICES-005 (Issue 2)Radio Frequency Lighting Devices (February 2007) Future work: ICES-007 (New) (BPL Equipment) (???) • New standard to address BPL equipment specifications. ICES-008 (New) (BPL Systems) (???) • New standard to address the deployment of BPL system and coordination.
