MANIFEST DESTINY Mission: developing democracy to the West of the USA and to other countries Belief that it was the destiny of the US to expand its territory at the expense of Native Americans and to extend its political social and economic influences. It was also the thought that the US was a land chosen by God. The grave of Samuel Adams, a freedom fighter in the American Revolutionary War, in Boston and a statue of George Washington, first President of the US, in NYC.

THE FRONTIER • It is a transition zone where explo- -rers and pioneers were arriving. • The zone limits the presence of European populations in the context of the conquest of the West of America. The idea of the American Dream is rooted in the United States Declaration of Independence which proclaims that "all men are created equal” and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.“It is the opportunity to make individual choices without the prior restrictions that limited people according to their class, caste, religion, race, or ethnicity.
