The Rotary Foundation • Started in 1917 • First Rotary Scholar in 1947 • More than 40,000 scholars (700 in 2009-10 in 80 different countries) • First Matching Grant in 1965 • More than 33,000 grants in 201 countries totaling more than $400 million • Group Study Exchange began in 1965 • Polio Eradication began in 1985 • More than 2 billion children immunized • 650 cases in 2011 (1,294 in 2010) • 31 to date for 2012 (67 to date for 2011) • World Peace Fellows started in 2002, more than 480 fellows

  16. Recurring Contributions • Contribution Form (123-EN) • Easiest of all • One-time application • Monthly or quarterly • Minimum $25, no maximum  • Credit cards provide miles • Ideal for Annual Fund

  17. Member Access • www.rotary.org • Secure online donation(s) • Credit card (miles!) • Member can track their own giving • Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, Disaster Recover Funds, Permanent Funds or Approved Foundation Grants

  18. Checks • Club Foundation Chair collects checks • Completes the 123-EN form • Mails checks and forms to TRF • Tracks for correct application of funds • Can be for Annual Fund, PolioPlus, Global Grant or Permanent Fund

  19. Stock Transfers • Great way to get rid of stock with low or zero cost basis • Simple form • Handled by broker • Note to TRF with instructions on where to apply

  20. Asset Transfers • Can transfer most tangible assets • Contact Permanent Fund Chair Adam Rosenberg • Multiple ways to give: Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Remainder Trust, Donor Advised Fund, etc.

  21. Permanent Fund • Charitable Gift Annuity • Minimum donation of $10,000 • Lifelong series of payments • Partial charitable contribution deduction. • Portion of the annuity payments during the early years are returned tax-free. • Major Donor • Earnings fund district projects forever

  22. Recognition Levels • Every Rotarian Every Year: $10+/year • Sustaining Member: $100+/year • Double Sustaining Member: $200+/year • Paul Harris Society $84/month or $1000/year • Major Donor: $10,000+ (Multiple Levels) • Arch C. Klumpf Society: $250,000+
